Rhino Medical is seeking board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity supporting a Level II Trauma Center along Florida’s Treasure Coast. The assignment involves providing emergency care at a busy hospital with dedicated adult and pediatric ED services, including advanced imaging and procedural resources.

This position offers a balanced clinical environment with comprehensive support, modern EMR technology, and access to specialty trauma and stroke facilities. Providers will deliver patient care primarily at the main hospital, with some coverage at affiliated facilities as needed, emphasizing adult and pediatric emergency management without inpatient or procedural responsibilities.

• EMR systems: Meditech, Pdoc, Dragon dictation
• Comprehensive stroke, bi-plane, interventional cardiac cath, and therapeutic hypothermia facilities
• Dedicated ED glide scopes and US machines
• In-house hospitalist and intensivist teams available 24/7

Practice Environment

The ED serves as a major referral center along Florida’s Treasure Coast, offering providers exposure to a wide range of trauma, stroke, and emergency cases. The department maintains continuous physician and APP coverage, supported by advanced documentation and imaging technologies within a modern, efficient environment.

Coverage & Schedule

• Approximately 70 hours of physician coverage weekly, primarily days
• 60 hours of APP coverage supporting emergency care
• Shifts and exact timing are not specified; no scheduled weekends or holidays indicated
• Coverage includes primary hospital in Fort Pierce with additional support at Vero Beach as needed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Management of diverse trauma, cardiac, and stroke cases within designated emergency scope
• No inpatient, floor code, or consult duties required
• Utilization of ED ultrasound, glide scopes, and other procedural equipment

Requirements

• Active Florida medical license
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM only)
• MD degree
