Activities Director

About the Role Activity Supervisor plans, implements, and oversees the activities program for residents. Works in conjunction with the activities staff to create a multi‑faceted daily/monthly calendar that is appropriate for all care levels and includes events that encourage resident individuality, participation, and leadership. The activities program promotes a sense of independence, fulfillment, and accomplishment for residents. Key Responsibilities Provide a well‑balanced daily and monthly calendar of programs and events of interest to residents. Routinely seek and incorporate resident feedback on activity likes/dislikes and suggestions for future programs. Establish and maintain community partnerships to offer a wide variety of choices for residents and collaborate with other organizations/businesses to promote joint programming. Provide opportunities for residents to engage in volunteer projects in the surrounding community. Ensure activity supplies are ordered and available for use. Transport residents to various activities and events in the community. Maintain an environment of energetic, personable, enthusiastic, and creative engagement. Qualifications & Essential Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Prefer a college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services, and/or two (2) years of equivalent work experience in the field. Prior experience in small‑group socialization and creative programming for older adults preferred. Prior experience in managing staff and volunteers. Current CPR/first aid certification. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major violations). Energetic, personable, enthusiastic, creative, and imaginative. Excellent communication skills and the ability to listen empathically to both residents and staff.
