Position Overview
Physiolife Physical Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Full-Time Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Tampa, Florida. This position will primarily work onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Facility, where you'll have the opportunity to directly impact the quality of life of our patients. Key Responsibilities
As a Full-Time Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing personalized physical therapy treatment plans focused on preventing disability, relieving pain, and developing muscle function in accordance with each patient’s capabilities.
- Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities using diagnostic tests for muscle, nerve, joint, and other body functions.
- Implementing treatment techniques including manual therapeutic exercises and instructing patients in non-manual exercises.
- Overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure fidelity to the treatment plan.
- Administering treatments such as traction, massage, and the application of physical agents as needed.
- Evaluating and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices in collaboration with the physician for optimal patient mobility.
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment modifications as necessary.
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Educating patients and their families about their therapy program and the proper use of any therapeutic devices.
- Completing functional assessments during on-site evaluations and adjusting care plans as required.
- Contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will be working with a diverse group of patients in our rehabilitation facility, including individuals recovering from surgery, injury, chronic pain conditions, and those needing post-operative rehabilitation. Our patient population requires a thorough understanding of their unique needs and conditions, and your work will significantly impact their recovery journey and overall health outcomes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in a rehabilitation setting.
- Current and valid Physical Therapy licensure in the state of Florida, in good standing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a rehabilitation facility or acute care setting is preferred, with demonstrated competence in evaluating and treating complex conditions. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation processes is also advantageous.
