Community Service Officer (CSO)- UAF Police Department

Community Service Officers (CSOs) are part-time student employees. The position consists of patrolling campus buildings and grounds, securing rooms and labs as required. CSOs provide security escorts and vehicle assists as well as supporting sworn police officers with various non-confrontational duties.
To thrive in this role, you need to have a drive to help others and a strong sense of community for UAF and Fairbanks. Good communication and observational skills are a must. As a CSO, you will be the first person to greet visitors at the UAF Police Department, and you will interact with students, faculty and staff throughout your shift. Shifts are scheduled around your class schedule, but can consist of weekends and holidays, early mornings and late nights. Uniforms are provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Must be a current UA student, enrolled in 6 credit hours, and maintain a 2.0 gpa. Summer employment available to students that were enrolled in the Spring, and plan to enroll in the Fall.
A valid Alaska Drivers License with a good driving history (at least three years) is required for employment and must be maintained during entire employment. Once hired, CSOs must successfully complete a training program and obtain state of Alaska APSIN clearance within 30 days.Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. This is a part-time, student employee position, $16.20 per hour (Student Assistant 2, step 19) to start. Wages may increase after one full semester of employment, and completion of training.
