Through our weekly flagship event, Thursday Gatherings , we create an open, vibrant, and inclusive space where ideas are shared and collaborations begin. Our mission is simple but powerful: connect innovators to make things happen. About the role We’re looking for welcoming, curious, and proactive Volunteer Event & Community Ambassadors to support our Thursday Gatherings at CIC Cambridge. As an Ambassador, you’ll be at the heart of the experience and the ongoing energy of the space, helping people feel seen, connected, and inspired from the moment they walk through the door. What Ambassadors do Welcoming Guests – Be the friendly face of Venture Café, supporting check-in and helping attendees feel oriented and at ease. Sparking Connections – Start conversations, make introductions, and help people meet others across disciplines and backgrounds. Supporting Event Flow – Assist with setup, logistics, and ensuring sessions and activities run smoothly. Championing the Community – Represent Venture Café’s mission and values in‑person and online, helping grow our network. Sharing the Energy – Capture and share moments, insights, and energy from events through social media and community storytelling. What you bring A warm, open, and welcoming presence. Strong communication and people skills. Adaptability and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment. Curiosity about innovation, entrepreneurship, or community building. Confidence engaging with new people in real time. Must be 18+ and comfortable communicating in English. Be part of a global innovation movement spanning 15+ cities. Meet founders, creatives, researchers, and industry leaders. Gain hands‑on experience in events and community building. Build confidence in high‑energy, people‑focused environments.
