Position Summary

The Production Supervisor leads and directs all production activities during the assigned shift. The role is accountable for safe and compliant execution of the production schedule, effective labor deployment, line performance, product yield, material control, accurate documentation, and timely response to operational issues. The Production Supervisor maintains an active presence on the production floor and owns shift execution from start-up through line clearance, documentation completion, and shift handoff.

Management is the primary duty of this position. The Production Supervisor customarily and regularly directs at least two full-time employees or their equivalent and provides meaningful input regarding employee selection, assignment, training, performance, recognition, corrective action, advancement, and retention.

Work Schedule

• This position follows a rotating two-week schedule within Monday through Friday.
• One week consists of three scheduled 12-hour workdays.
• The alternate week consists of four scheduled workdays of at least 10 hours each. These workdays may extend to 12 hours when required by production or business needs.
• Specific workdays and start and end times are assigned by the Production Manager based on the approved production schedule.
• The Production Supervisor must be present for the full assigned shift, including production start-up, changeovers, shutdown, documentation completion, and shift handoff.
• Schedule flexibility may be required for special production runs, inventory activities, audits, training, equipment failures, or urgent operating needs.
• As a salaried exempt position, the employee is expected to work the time reasonably necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, subject to applicable law and company policy.

Responsibilities

• Production Line Team Leads ensure all manufacturing goes smoothly and efficiently by closely monitoring how employees organize their workflows
• Ensuring that materials and supplies are in a positive flow
• Ensure that machines are functional, and the production facilities adhere to safety standards
• Focuses on driving Safety, quality, and productivity.
• Develops, implements, and enforces operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue.
• Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Backfill employees and run machines as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, operations management, supply chain, food, food science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
• At least three years of manufacturing experience, including supervisory or team-lead responsibility.
• Experience in dietary supplements, food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, or another regulated manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, workplace safety requirements, and controlled manufacturing procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to direct at least two full-time employees or their equivalent and manage hourly employee performance in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, labor planning, line balancing, yield, scrap, downtime, and inventory reconciliation.
• Ability to use production data and KPIs to identify problems, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, accountability, communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Planning, Maintenance, Research and Development, Human Resources, and management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Experience with SAP, ERP, manufacturing execution, or production-reporting systems is preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is required to provide instructions, complete production documentation, conduct training, and report safety, quality, and operational issues.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and remain on the production floor for extended periods.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the assigned shift and to bend, reach, and use stairs safely.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials within company-established limits, using assistance or lifting equipment when required.
• Ability to work around production equipment, noise, odors, cleaning chemicals, and temperature variations.
