Laboratory Technician

Location Wayne Medical Center 103 J V Mangubat Drive Waynesboro, TN 38485

Shift PRN, as needed

6:00am - 6:00pm

Job Summary Functions under routine supervisor to perform laboratory testing in areas assigned; is capable of recognizing problems and abnormal results.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing independently with strong attention to accuracy, efficiency, and problem-solving.
• Ensure timely completion of testing workloads, maintain productivity standards, and support departmental goals.
• Conduct and document quality control and equipment maintenance activities in compliance with laboratory procedures.
• Verify specimen integrity, evaluate results, and ensure accurate reporting in accordance with laboratory policies and best practices.
• Maintain compliance with critical result reporting, proficiency testing, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
• Promote effective shift communication, accurate LIS documentation, excellent customer service, and a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Licensure as Medical Laboratory Technician by Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board or National Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP, AMT, AAB Required
• AAS Allied Health (Preferred)
• 1 Year of Related Experience (Preferred)
