Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS Required Must-Have Skills/Experience: Telemetry experience Recent acute care experience Ability to handle a 1:6 patient ratio Travel experience Description: This position involves working as a Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical telemetry unit. The unit consists of 40 beds. The nurse will provide care for adult and geriatric patients. Patient care will include total joint patients, surgical patients, and individuals with acute on chronic medical conditions. The nurse will also care for patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome, and gastrointestinal bleeding. No call requirements are scheduled, but shifts may be flexed as needed. The nurse may be expected to float to other units. The use of specific equipment such as IV pumps, bed and chair alarms, drug dispensing cabinets, and defibrillators is required. The electronic health record system in use is Medhost. The ideal candidate should possess a compassionate and positive attitude. A can-do attitude is essential for success in this role.
