DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman, you will be leading inmate work crews in a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks while also performing hands‑on work in various trades. You will play a key part in keeping the facility safe, clean, and in good working order. Responsibilities include: Crew Supervision: Direct inmate workers in completing construction, maintenance, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks Work Planning: Plan daily schedules, assign tasks, and inspect completed work for quality and safety Trade Assistance: Perform or assist with skilled work in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, or welding Tool Management: Issue, track, and inventory materials and tools used for maintenance assignments Safety Oversight: Conduct searches of inmates and work areas to ensure tools and materials are accounted for Supply Coordination: Determine needed materials and submit purchase requests to support work assignments Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55 Telework: No telework option in this position Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
