This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Rapids on a full-time basis.The Role:The career level Manufacturing Engineer will be skilled in manufacturing equipment, assembly and process improvements and overall manufacturing process support. The work is performed in a manufacturing environment where innovation, creativity and initiative are used to support and improve current manufacturing operations. The work will be focused on high volume assembly and testing.What You'll Do (Responsibilities):Responsible for supporting activities that may include:Ensure all manufacturing technical documentation is up to date.Provide technical direction to internal teams while overseeing external vendors to ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and solutions meet quality, efficiency, and production requirements.Collaborate cross-functionally to drive problem-solving initiatives, including improving equipment efficiency, resolving downtime events, and addressing customer quality concerns.Provide day-to-day support of manufacturing operations and maintenance.Participate in identifying and/or resolving safety and ergonomics issues.Facilitate or deliver training for team members and maintenance personnel, while also developing technical training manuals and work instructions as needed.Participate in project planning and coordination to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.5+ years of experience in engineering support role in a manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing and testing.Previous experience with computer- based office and engineering software, including Microsoft Suite.Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Knowledge of high-speed assembly manufacturing equipment.Knowledge of vision inspection systems.Proficient with Fanuc robot fault recovery and programming.Proficient with CAD SoftwareStatistical Analysis.Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
