Senior PV Electrical Engineer – Practice BuilderKimley-Horn has an opportunity for a Senior PV Electrical Engineer – Practice Builder to lead and expand our solar engineering practice. This high-impact role is ideal for a proven leader with strong industry relationships, a track record of winning work, and the ability to build and scale a high-performing team quickly.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Client Relationships:Leverage industry connections to generate new business and expand market presence.Develop strategic partnerships with utilities, developers, EPCs, and key stakeholders.Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and project acquisitions.Practice Growth & Leadership:Recruit, mentor, and build a best-in-class PV engineering team.Establish technical and operational best practices for project execution.Drive revenue growth through new opportunities and service offerings.Project & Technical Excellence:Oversee the electrical design of large-scale PV and energy storage projects.Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, UL, and interconnection requirements.Optimize system performance through advanced modeling and engineering analysis.Market & Industry Influence:Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.Stay ahead of emerging technologies, regulations, and market trends.Qualifications10+ years of experience in PV electrical engineering, project development, or related fields.Established industry network with a strong reputation for winning and delivering work.Expertise in PV system design, interconnection, and grid integration.Strong leadership skills with the ability to rapidly scale a technical team.Deep understanding of NEC, IEEE, UL, and permitting requirements.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.PE (Professional Engineer) registration preferred.Estimated Salary Range:Base Salary: $130,000 to $200,000 per yearEligible for performance based bonusesFactors Influencing Salary:Experience Level: Extensive experience in PV electrical engineering and a proven track record in business development can command higher salaries.Industry Relationships: Established networks that can drive business growth are highly valued.Leadership Skills: Ability to build and lead teams effectively can significantly impact compensation.Why Kimley-Horn?At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
