Assistant Controller

A growing manufacturing organization in Union, MO is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its finance and accounting team. This role is critical in supporting the company's financial health through accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Plant Controller and oversee key accounting operations, financial analysis, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and develop insightful reports for leadership.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI development.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and cash flow processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
- Lead audit processes and maintain internal controls.
- Mentor and supervise accounting staff, including training and performance management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and proven financial reporting skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or similar ERP required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Base salary range: $75,000 - $93,000
- 5% bonus opportunity
