Data Scientist, GEOINT Remote Sensing

Salary: $114,000 - 182,100 per year Requirements:

• We require a BS/BA with 2 years of relevant experience, or an MS/MA, or a PhD.
• We prefer a degree in data science, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a closely related field.
• We look for demonstrated experience in GEOINT workflows, including remote sensing platforms, multi-modal data fusion, and advanced geospatial analytics.
• We value experience training, fine-tuning, and applying deep learning models for remote sensing and GEOINT use cases such as automatic target recognition, object detection, and segmentation.
• We prefer familiarity with models and frameworks such as YOLO, Detectron2, DINOv2, Segment Anything Model, Vision Transformers, and geospatial foundation models.
• We seek experience with long-wave infrared hyperspectral imagery, Synthetic Aperture Radar, and/or electro-optical data.
• We want hands-on experience with geospatial analysis tools such as GDAL, GeoPandas, and Google Earth Engine, as well as machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• We need strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present technical findings to varied audiences and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
• We require U.S. citizenship.
• We require eligibility for a federal background investigation for access to classified material.
• We require the ability to complete pre-employment and random drug testing, and to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 months before the required national security questionnaire is completed.

• We develop, test, and deploy machine learning models and geospatial analytics workflows.
• We contribute to research execution within mission-focused R&D programs in our AI and Data Analytics Division.
• We collaborate with interdisciplinary peers to create data-driven solutions for national security challenges.
• We analyze geospatial datasets and apply advanced analytic methods to bridge research innovations with field-ready outcomes.
• We take ownership of defined tasks or small projects, identify technical risks, and recommend solutions to senior staff or project leads.
• We mentor junior staff and interns while supporting an inclusive, collaborative research culture.
• We support proposal development and business development efforts, including contributing to proposals and briefing sponsors.
• We build strong working relationships within our immediate team and across broader multidisciplinary groups.
