CNA - LTC/SNF

Job Summary:
The Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) provides essential daily living assistance to residents and patients in a long-term care or skilled rehabilitation setting. The role involves supporting care plan implementation, promoting resident comfort, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with facility standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, and ambulation.
• Take and record vital signs and weights, reporting significant changes promptly to supervising staff.
• Support resident/patient rights while maintaining confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Follow universal precautions and safety protocols to prevent infections and ensure a safe environment.
• Document intake/output and communicate changes in condition to nursing staff accurately.
• Provide compassionate, empathetic care in collaboration with the healthcare team and support resident independence.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Maine Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) license.
• Demonstrate effective communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to accurately take vital signs and document measurements.
• Exhibit flexibility, teamwork, and a respectful, diplomatic attitude in patient care.
• Capable of handling difficult situations with professionalism and compassion.
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled rehabilitation preferred.
