Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

Becton Dickinson seeks a Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to lead innovation and scaling of manufacturing operations within its Connected Care division. The role combines strategic planning, automation implementation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality medical device products at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive design transfer and commercialization roadmaps aligned with business goals
• Lead development and implementation of advanced manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes
• Oversee design, layout, and launch of new production lines to meet program milestones
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact
• Develop and manage capital expenditure plans for manufacturing infrastructure and technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred)
• 15+ years advanced manufacturing experience, preferably in medical devices
• Proven ability to scale operations from pilot through mass production
• Expertise in automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, and production technologies
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management systems
• Deep understanding of medical device regulations and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional team management experience
