Electrical Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee field execution of electrical systems on a high-tech, mission-critical construction project. This role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and field management of electrical work to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design documents and project schedules.

The Electrical Superintendent will serve as the on-site field leader for electrical construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, managing trade sequencing, resolving field issues, and ensuring quality control from pre-construction through commissioning.


Essential Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site supervision of electrical crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Lead field execution of electrical installations, ensuring alignment with project schedule and sequencing.
• Serve as the primary field point of contact for electrical systems.
• Coordinate layout, installation verification, and work sequencing in the field.
• Conduct daily huddles and coordination meetings to address field issues and maintain productivity.
• Collaborate closely with Area Managers, Project Managers, and other Superintendents to ensure integrated MEP execution.
• Attend and support pre-installation and coordination meetings.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure constructability.
• Support and coordinate BIM efforts, including participation in clash detection and resolution.
• Oversee installation and inspection of electrical systems including:

  • UPS systems
  • Generators
  • PDUs
  • Bus duct systems
  • Low-voltage systems
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, local codes, and client standards.
• Lead QA/QC field inspections and participate in pre-functional testing and system startup activities.
• Maintain field documentation including daily reports, RFIs, as-builts, and change tracking.
• Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Plumbing, CSA, and other trades to resolve field conflicts.
• Enforce strict adherence to jobsite safety protocols and OSHA standards.
• Conduct routine safety audits and field walks.
• Support commissioning and system turnover activities.

Qualifications

We are seeking a field-focused leader with strong electrical expertise and the ability to drive productivity and safety in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 7+ years of field experience in commercial electrical construction.
• At least 3 years of experience in hyperscale or mission-critical/data center environments preferred.
• Proven experience supervising large-scale electrical installations.
• Strong background in high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage distribution systems.
• Experience with UPS systems, generators, grounding, and BMS integration.
• Deep understanding of construction sequencing, trade coordination, and commissioning processes.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering is a plus but not required.

Position-Related Skills

• Strong knowledge of field construction practices and electrical installation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Experience coordinating with design teams, subcontractors, and inspectors.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination tools (Revit, Navisworks) preferred.
• Experience using project software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to direct field crews effectively.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing schedules.
• Capable of maintaining detailed and accurate field documentation.
• Flexible schedule, including extended hours or off-shift work as required by construction sequencing
