About the Role:

UNDERWAY FIBERAXIS LLC is looking for a skilled Directional Drill Locator to join our growing team in Arcanum, OH. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in underground utility installation projects, ensuring precision and safety every step of the way. HOUSING IS PROVIDED. Please be able to ge to work. No Per Diem. PLEASE BE ABLE TO BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO RELOCATE WITH THE JOB.

Responsibilities:

• Operate locating equipment to track and guide directional drilling heads during horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations
• Communicate drill path, depth, and pitch data to drill operators in real time
• Interpret and monitor bore path using walkover or wireline locating systems
• Identify and mark existing underground utilities to ensure safe drilling operations
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and maintenance of HDD equipment and locating tools
• Maintain accurate logs and records of bore paths and project data
• Collaborate with crew members and project supervisors to meet project timelines and specifications

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a Directional Drill Locator or in HDD operations strongly preferred
• Proficiency with locating systems such as DigiTrak, Subsite, or similar equipment
• Strong understanding of underground utility installation and bore path navigation
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, utility maps, and project drawings
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a crew
• OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain is a plus
