Pharmacy TechnicianThe Redding Rancheria is seeking a Pharmacy Technician. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm with one Saturday and one Sunday a month.The listed wage reflects the entry-level rate for this position. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, education, and qualifications.Job SummaryUnder direction from the Pharmacist in Charge: The Pharmacy Technician will assist in checking eligibility, responsible for third party insurance and grant billing, provide customer service; answer phones; operate Point of Sale (POS) register, maintaining the pharmacy stock levels; assist pharmacist in filling prescriptions in accordance with Federal and State laws governing the pharmacy industry.Requirements/Minimum QualificationsActive California State Board of Pharmacy Technician license in good standing requiredBasic computer and typing skills.Cash register and customer service experience.Must pass pre-employment drug screening.Indian preferenceEssential Job DutiesManage incoming requests from patient, provider and referral team for new medications and medication refills.Understands the insurance and healthcare benefits, submits prior authorizations to the PBM, and ensures that the required supporting documentation is submitted for review.Investigate and verify benefits for pharmacy claims for assigned casesContact providers for additional information to facilitate coverage determination reviewsNotify physicians, providers and members of coverage determination request decisionsEnsure scripts are filled in a timely manner by coordinating with the requesting provider, and reaching out to other departments as needed.Ensure the patient completed the necessary labs and diagnostic testing as required prior to dispensing certain medication (Accutane, etc)Responsible for understanding the clinical protocols for medication refills as established by the organizationAdheres to the implemented refill center workflow.Adapts easily to a high volume, fast pace medical group setting.Manage escalated patient care issues in collaboration with the Admissions, Providers and Case Management teams as appropriate.Prepare medication for mailing, delivery, operate register, handle money and prepare deposits accurately.Assist and perform all inventory activities: drug ordering, insurance audits, recalls, returns, outdates, CII reconciliation, maintaining pharmacy stock levels.Communicate with the Pharmacist on duty for consults on medications as well as discrepancies on drug orders.A completed Redding Rancheria job application must be submitted in order to be considered for employment.
