Qualifications & Experience
*   1–2 years of experience in purchasing/procurement within a machine shop or manufacturing environment, preferably with experience purchasing materials, components, and services from outside vendors.
*   Strong ability to communicate professionally with customers and vendors by phone and email. The candidate should be comfortable requesting pricing, discussing material availability, following up on orders, and resolving purchasing-related questions.
*   Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications and determine the appropriate type, grade, size, and quantity of material required for a job.
*   1–2 years of experience in estimating and quoting manufacturing or machining projects, including reviewing job requirements, calculating material and processing costs, and preparing accurate customer quotations.
*   Previous experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, particularly experience with CNC machining, welding and waterjet cutting.
*   Familiarity with common metals and manufacturing materials, as well as an understanding of machining and fabrication processes, is highly desirable.
*   Strong attention to detail and the ability to review drawings, specifications, vendor quotes, and customer requirements accurately.
*   Ability to manage multiple purchasing and quoting requests while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
*   Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
*   Willingness to learn.
*   Able to communicate respectfully and effectively with coworkers, customers, and management. A friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor is essential.
*   Works well with others and contributes positively to a collaborative work environment.
*   Comfortable working alongside team members, sharing responsibilities, assisting others when needed, and contributing toward common goals.

Key Responsibilities
*   Review customer drawings, blueprints, and job specifications to determine material and manufacturing requirements.
*   Purchase raw materials and other components from qualified vendors.
*   Request and compare vendor pricing, lead times, and availability.
*   Communicate with vendors and customers by phone and email regarding pricing, specifications, orders, and project requirements.
*   Prepare estimates and quotes for CNC machining, welding, waterjet cutting, and related machine-shop projects.
*   Calculate material requirements, outside processing costs, and other job-related expenses.
*   Work closely with the shop and production teams to ensure purchased materials meet project specifications.
*   Track purchase orders, vendor commitments, and material delivery schedules.
*   Maintain accurate records and follow up on outstanding quotes, orders, and deliveries. \nCompany Description
