Entry-Level Security Installation TechnicianOverview We are seeking motivated, customer-focused individuals interested in starting a career in the security and low-voltage technology industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to learn a skilled trade. No direct experience with security systems, cameras, alarm systems, or cabling is required. Comprehensive training will be provided. Successful candidates often come from backgrounds such as construction, warehouse operations, automotive work, residential installations, maintenance, customer service, technical support, military service, or other skilled trades. What You'll Do Install, troubleshoot, repair, and program residential security systems Support burglar alarm, CCTV, video surveillance, and access control system installations Upgrade and convert older security systems to newer technology Install and service door contacts, window sensors, glass-break detectors, and smoke detectors Diagnose and resolve equipment or signal-related issues Test and verify equipment functionality and communication signals Educate customers on how to use their systems and connected devices Answer customer questions and provide exceptional service throughout the installation process Complete required job documentation accurately Track and document materials and parts used during installations Maintain organized vehicle inventory and equipment Work directly with homeowners to ensure a positive customer experience Meet installation quality and performance standards What We're Looking For Strong customer service and communication skills Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technology Positive attitude and a strong work ethic Reliable and dependable attendance Ability to adapt to changing situations and solve problems independently Comfort working with hand tools and performing hands-on work Ability to build trust and confidence with customers Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in residential environments Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Great Backgrounds Include Skilled trades Construction or labor experience Residential installation work Cable, internet, or telecommunications support Maintenance or repair roles Automotive technicians Warehouse or manufacturing employees with mechanical aptitude Retail technical support or consumer electronics experience Military veterans Technical Skills You'll Learn Low-voltage wiring Security and burglar alarm systems CCTV and video surveillance systems Access control systems Cat5/Cat6 cabling Troubleshooting and diagnostics Residential system installation and programming Customer training and support Requirements Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to work in residential environments Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as needed Comfortable using hand tools and basic technology Ability to pass required background screening Why This Opportunity? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
