Position Details - Cytotechnologist Float

Location: St. Joseph's Hospital - Tampa, FL

Facility: BayCare Health System - Cytology Services

Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (may vary based on operational needs)

Schedule: Flexible; occasional weekends required

Float Requirement: Must be willing to travel and float between BayCare facilities as needed

Position Summary

The Cytotechnologist - Float provides high-quality cytology services with a primary home base at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa , while floating to other BayCare facilities as needed. This role requires schedule flexibility , reliable transportation , and adaptability to multiple laboratory environments while maintaining BayCare's standards of excellence and patient-centered care.

Requirements

• ASCP Certified Technologist in Cytology

• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory License - Cytotechnologist

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Bachelor's requirement may be waived if certified prior to 1985

• Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of cytology experience

• Hospital experience not required- training available

• Ability and willingness to travel between facilities and maintain a flexible work schedule
