Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough initial mental health assessments to understand patient histories, triggers, and treatment goals, creating customized treatment plans to meet individual needs.
- Utilize various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, to facilitate effective treatment sessions for individuals and groups.
- Facilitate support and psychoeducational groups addressing prevalent mental health issues, fostering a communal understanding and shared experience among participants.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Provide crisis intervention services, guiding patients through critical situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Educate clients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and corresponding community resources to empower their recovery journeys.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress in adherence with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Participate in ongoing case consultations and team meetings to discuss complex cases and new treatment methods.
- Stay informed about the latest research and trends in mental health therapy to continuously improve patient care practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus
We serve a diverse clientele, including adolescents, adults, and families dealing with a broad spectrum of mental health issues. Qualifications
- Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure in California as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Thorough understanding of clinical best practices, including knowledge of mental health disorders and evidenced-based therapeutic methods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining clinical documentation.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience providing therapeutic services in a mental health setting, with demonstrable success in improving patient outcomes.
- Familiarity with community mental health resources and services in the Long Beach area to better connect clients with necessary support.
- Experience working with group therapy sessions is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
