Inventory Specialist

About the Role:

The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure seamless operations within the supply chain. This position is responsible for overseeing stock levels, conducting regular audits, and coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams to optimize inventory flow. The Inventory Specialist ensures that inventory data is precise and up-to-date, which directly impacts order fulfillment, cost control, and customer satisfaction. By analyzing inventory trends and discrepancies, the specialist helps identify opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction. Ultimately, this role supports the organization's operational efficiency and financial performance by maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing stock-related issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in inventory management or a related field.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform physical inventory counts and handle stock as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, data analytics or related field.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
• Knowledge of lean inventory practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical audits.
• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to manage stock replenishment and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend adjustments to inventory policies.
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances, including damaged, lost, or obsolete stock.
• Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, turnover rates, and key performance indicators for management review.
