Radiology - X-ray Tech

X-Ray TechnologistVerify patients' identity and review physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures. Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians' orders. Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions they may have. Position patients appropriately, which may include lifting and moving those with limited mobility. Handle all radiologic equipment safely and properly, keeping patient dose as low as possible. Observe each patient's status and interpret the necessary information to meet their age-specific needs. Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist. Promptly notify management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment. Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any specific comments from the provider. Practice the dual patient identifier procedure. Maintain accurate patient records by correctly identifying images and ensuring they are sent to the PACS system. Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology is required. Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Display a patient and compassionate disposition. Be a team player capable of maintaining a cohesive working environment. Must have recent OR experience and experience using c-arm/o-arm is required.
