In this role you will work as part of a team to solve difficult problems for our clients in the biomedical engineering space using both experimental and computational modeling tools. You will be responsible for Designing and executing experiments and computer simulations to assess electromagnetic and thermal hazards related to the use of medical devices and wearable electronics.Actively participating in Exponent’s medical device consulting work, including evaluations of implant materials, analysis of tissue/device interactions, and developing computational models of implantable medical devices.Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and testing on the behalf of multinational medical device companies for the FDA and consulting in intellectual property and product liability litigationPublishing at conferences and in peer-reviewed literatureAssisting in marketing the group’s technical capabilities to clients and the scientific communityDeveloping additional expertise and gaining additional industry exposure through our unique technical consulting services You will have the following skills and qualifications Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.Specialized knowledge in computational modeling tools (e.g., finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, etc.) for the study of electromagnetic and thermal physics.Significant experience developing codes/scripts for the purposes of data analysis and/or workflow automation.Familiarity with multiphysics problems and solutions using COMSOL or equivalent software packages is desirable.Familiarity with EMI/EMC evaluations desirable.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].
