Executive Director - Clear Creek Education Foundation

Fundraising And Foundation Program Director

Plans for, administers, develops, implements and provides oversight of all fundraising activities and Foundation programs in accordance with the Foundation's stated mission and goals and in such a manner that optimum results are achieved in relation to the resources of the Foundation and District; operates under the general direction of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Licensure:

Bachelor's Degree (Marketing, Public Relations or Business concentration beneficial) Master's Degree preferred (may substitute 3 years' experience for advanced degree) Certified Fund Raising Executive preferred

Previous Grant Writing Experience (Federal, Corporate, Local Grants)

Special Knowledge/Skills

Proven history of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals; ability to provide effective oral and written correspondence, proposals, marketing materials, grants, and solicitations; work effectively with volunteer Boards and committees plan, monitor and evaluate budgets; manage people; and organize, prioritizing, plan and implement projects and activities appropriate to further organization goals. Strong interpersonal, presentation, relationship building and communication skills. Strong computer and data management skills, including non-profit applications, are required.

Experience

Five years of fundraising and supervisory or managerial experience in not-for-profit sector or related field. Experience in a public-school district.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
Fund Development
  1. Develops implements and provides overall direction of all fund-raising activities.
  2. Involves Board and appropriate committees in development activities, effectively utilizes Board resources, and provides fund development training for members as appropriate.
  3. Participates with Board members in targeted funding requests.
  4. Researches corporate and individual donor prospects and cultivates relationships.
  5. Communicates with donors, including reporting to donors on the specific use of funds.
  6. Facilitates fundraising activities that engage community partners.
  7. Conducts special events to engage community and foster increased giving.
  8. Provides for structured giving and other programs as appropriate.
  9. Researches grant opportunities, prepares grant proposals, and follows up on requests.
  10. Works with the Board of Directors to develop and implement a strategic plan which includes a strong fund-raising initiative, support the cross-organization collaborations that are unique to this type of organization.
  11. Works with the Board of Directors to manage the organization, fund development, public relations and communications, and strategic/tactical planning.
  12. Identifies and informs the Board of new funding sources.
  13. Personally, raises a significant proportion of each year's funds.
  14. Coordinates with school district staff as appropriate.
Community Relations & Awareness
  1. Acts to maintain highly effective client relations under all Foundation programs.
  2. Maintains effective relationships with professional and community organizations and actively participates as a member where appropriate.
  3. Serves as the primary face of the Foundation to the community. Interprets the function of the Foundation to the community through direct involvement and public relations programs, including personal contact, literature, and the media.
  4. Assures development and implementation of marketing programs to support community awareness, program participation and fundraising.
  5. Administers orientation and training programs for Board members as appropriate.
  6. Maintains open lines of communications and cultivates a relationship with each Board member.
  7. Works with the Board of Directors to raise public awareness of the Foundation.
  8. Program Development and Administration
  9. Develops and recommends to the Board of Directors specific, written long and short- range plans for the development and editing of Foundation programs and services consistent with the Foundation's mission and resources.
  10. Provides for effective and efficient conduct of existing Foundation programs.
  11. Involves Board, volunteer, professional and/or district staff in support of Foundation programs as appropriate.
  12. Evaluates Foundation programs and services in relation to specified goals and standards, and recommends modification, where appropriate.
  13. Works with the Board of Directors to oversee the administrative tasks required to carry out the Foundation's mission and objectives.
  14. Works with the Board of Directors to coordinate and oversee major events.
General Administration
  1. Engages Board and staff in strategic planning, defining of mission and visioning, annual goal setting, and program planning as needed.
  2. Recommends policies to the Board and/or assists the Board in the formulation of policies for the effective and economical operation of the Board.
  3. Ensures implementation of Foundation policies adopted by the Board.
  4. Assumes chief administrative responsibility for public accountability of the Foundation, maintenance of Foundation assets, and regular reporting to various bodies.
  5. Assures maintenance of databases and on-going communication with all constituencies, including donors, program participants, etc.
  6. Carries chief staff responsibility to ensure that legal obligations of the Foundation are met.
  7. Assures preparation of Foundation budget and is accountable for control of these resources, once approved.
  8. Supervises and directs key staff, including volunteers in the performance of their duties; evaluates the performance of key staff member(s); and provides overall control and direction for the personnel function of the Foundation, including active participation in or approval of personnel.

  8. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  9. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  10. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  11. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  12. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  14. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

Work with frequent interruptions; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; any work-related experience or additional education/training resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above required knowledge, skills, and abilities is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
