Senior Designer

(This full-time remote position is open to candidates in Atlanta, Tampa, Charlotte, Raleigh, Columbia, Phoenix, Houston, Memphis, Nashville, Salt Lake City and Portland, OR.)Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is on a growth trajectory and is seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join our Marketing & Business Development team. As a senior member of the firms Creative Services & Design team, this role develops thoughtful, high-quality creative solutions supporting business development, marketing, recruiting, events, firmwide initiatives, and internal and external communications.Position OverviewThe Senior Designer independently leads a diverse portfolio of creative projects from initial request and concept development through production and final delivery. This position works directly with attorneys, Marketing and Business Development professionals, firm leadership, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives, identify creative opportunities, recommend effective design solutions, and translate complex or text-heavy information into clear, compelling visual communications.The ideal candidate combines advanced design expertise with strong business acumen, sound judgment, curiosity, project ownership, and a client-service mindset. This person should be equally comfortable developing original creative concepts and working within established brand systems across print, digital, presentations, campaigns, events, and video.As a senior member of the team, this position is expected to manage stakeholder relationships and competing priorities with a high degree of independence, contribute to peer review and team development, identify opportunities to improve how Creative Services works, and know when an issue requires clarification, consultation, or escalation.Key ResponsibilitiesCreative Design & ProductionLead the design and execution of high-quality creative work across a broad range of formats, including advertising, event and conference materials, key client pursuits and pitch materials, campaigns, recruiting materials, brochures, publication materials, digital graphics, presentations, infographics, charts, signage, and other print and digital communications.Create and edit professional video content for marketing, business development, recruiting, events, and other firm communications.Apply strong visual storytelling principles to presentations and other complex or text-heavy materials, helping stakeholders communicate information clearly and effectively.Create sophisticated, polished, and editable PowerPoint presentations that balance strong visual design with usability and brand consistency.Project Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementIndependently lead creative projects from intake and concept development through production, quality review, and final delivery.Partner directly with attorneys, Marketing and Business Development professionals, firm leadership, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives, audiences, messages, deliverables, and project requirements.Provide creative consultation and recommend design approaches based on the goals and intended use of a project rather than relying solely on prescriptive design direction.Manage multiple complex and high-priority assignments simultaneously, exercise sound judgment in prioritizing work, and communicate early when scope, timing, capacity, or dependencies may affect delivery.Proactively communicate creative, brand, production, and workflow recommendations, including explaining when a requested approach should be handled differently and why.Process ManagementEvaluate project requests, identify missing information or dependencies, and independently determine when clarification, additional input, or requester action is needed before work can appropriately proceed.Review completed work against the original request, specifications, and project objectives to ensure all required deliverables and details have been addressed prior to final delivery.Identify recurring requests that may benefit from standardization, self-service resources, templates, or other scalable solutions and help surface those opportunities to the appropriate team members.Contribute recommendations for improving Creative Services workflows, quality-control practices, tools, and the overall internal client experience.Maintain organized project files and final assets in accordance with established Creative Services processes, naming conventions, and digital asset management practices.Coordinate with internal partners and outside vendors when projects involve printing, production, video, events, or other specialized services.Brand Standards & GovernanceApply and uphold Fisher Phillips brand standards while exercising appropriate creative judgment within established design systems.Collaborate with the Brand Design Lead and other team members when projects raise broader brand-system, template, or governance considerations.Team & Professional DevelopmentProvide thoughtful peer review, creative feedback, and guidance to other members of the Creative Services & Design team.Support the onboarding and development of designers by sharing expertise, workflows, best practices, and specialized skills as appropriate.Stay current on design, presentation, video, and marketing trends and identify relevant techniques, technologies, or approaches that could strengthen the teams work.Contribute to brainstorming, creative development, and firmwide initiatives as needed.Assume additional responsibilities appropriate to the role as business and team needs evolve.Qualifications Bachelors degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.7+ years of senior level design experience, with a strong professional portfolio demonstrating advanced graphic design expertise across a variety of print and digital applications.Demonstrated experience independently leading design projects from concept through completion, including independently managing multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.Experience in an in-house, brand-side, business-to-business, or professional services environment is strongly preferred.Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.Demonstrated experience creating and editing professional video content; proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable professional video-editing software required.Experience with motion graphics, Adobe After Effects, or related tools is a plus.Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and demonstrated experience creating sophisticated, editable presentations for professional or executive audiences.Strong understanding of typography, layout, visual hierarchy, composition, color, imagery, and brand systems.Ability to translate complex, technical, or text-heavy information into clear, compelling visual communication.Strong creative problem-solving skills and the judgment to recommend appropriate solutions when requests are ambiguous, incomplete, or could be approached more effectively.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate creative recommendations and design rationale to non-designers.Excellent attention to detail, including proofreading, production specifications, and final-file quality control.Strong collaboration and client-service skills with the confidence and professionalism to work directly with attorneys, senior professionals, and cross-functional teams.Ability to provide constructive creative feedback and contribute to the development of other designers.Comfort working in a PC-based corporate technology environment.Experience in using project-management, workflow, or digital asset management systems preferred.Why Join UsAt Fisher Phillips, we recognize that exceptional talent is the foundation of our success, enabling us to deliver outstanding service to both our internal and external clients.
