Air Force Reserve Technician Position

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the subject matter expert in managing the squadron/flight Prime BEEF and Mobility programs which includes unit civil engineering (CE) and Fire Protection.

Duties include:

• Planning, organizing, and managing the day-to-day activities of the civil engineer squadron
• Managing the Prime BEEF and Mobility programs for the CE squadron/flight
• Evaluating the effectiveness of Prime BEEF and mobility programs for the unit
• Providing advice and technical guidance in all areas related to Prime BEEF and Mobility
• Procuring, storing, and maintaining mobility equipment and home station training equipment
• Performing work for the planning and management of the administrative budget and related financial documents
• Establishing and developing training programs and classes for Prime BEEF, OJT and Wartime task training

Requirements include:

• One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering and fire protection methods and procedures
• Knowledge of microcomputer systems and operation of word processing, databases, and spreadsheet applications
• Knowledge of AF logistics functions of supply, transportation, and other mission support functions
• Skill and ability to develop training programs and conduct training and testing
• Ability to make instant decisions and select a course of action under high stress conditions
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to prepare and present briefings, coordinates planning efforts and manages program activities

• This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position
• The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements
• Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA)
• The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
• May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments
• Requires knowledge and experience with the Air Force Dual Channel OJT program
