Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients experiencing breathing difficulties. The primary duties include assessing patients, administering treatments, and educating individuals and their families on effective management of respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment: Examine patients with respiratory issues, analyze biological samples, and conduct lung function tests.
Treatment Administration: Provide oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy to enhance respiratory health.
Life Support/Ventilation: Operate and manage mechanical ventilators for patients unable to breathe independently.
Emergency Response: Deliver emergency care, including artificial respiration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, collaborate with physicians on treatment strategies, and support discharge planning.
Patient Education: Instruct patients and their families on disease management and the proper use of home respiratory equipment.

Shift Information

This position requires night shifts.

Holiday coverage is not required.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
