QXO is North America's largest distributor and installer of insulation, the second-largest distributor of roofing products, and a significant distributor of lumber and building materials, aiming to be a tech-enabled leader in the $800 billion building products distribution industry. This role is crucial for managing intercompany transactions, conducting thorough research, and reconciling sales and purchase transactions. By ensuring the accurate posting and reconciliation of daily and monthly debits and credits in the general ledger, this position directly contributes to the company's financial integrity and supports its ambitious growth trajectory towards $50 billion in annual revenue within the next decade. Mission: To ensure accurate financial record-keeping, reconciliation, and tax compliance for the company's sales and purchase transactions. Tech Stack: Oracle, MS Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Internet navigation and research What You'll Actually Do Purchase and Sales Processing: Process, manage, and reconcile all activities necessary to initiate and complete the company's purchases and sales, including managing document requirements for various transactions and vendor relationships. General Ledger Oversight: Ensure the accurate posting and reconciliation of daily and monthly debits and credits in the general ledger, performing a month-end analytical review of trial balance accounts. Tax Determination and Compliance: Review purchase and sales transactions to apply applicable state and local tax rules for taxability, conducting periodic reviews, and assisting with month-end sales and use tax compliance for multiple entities across fourteen jurisdictions utilizing Oracle and MS Excel. Account Reconciliation and Reporting: Prepare, record, and reconcile journal entries and monthly account reconciliations for the Company, and establish reporting processes to segregate transactions by vendor, customer, commodity, and business unit. Process Management and Collaboration: Implement and maintain tracking tools for document retention, research and resolve invoice discrepancies, monitor vendor and customer adherence to contractual terms, and collaborate with internal departments, external consultants, legal counsel, and taxing authorities to analyze data and ensure policy adherence. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience: Minimum of 1+ year of general experience, with proficiency in ERP navigation (Oracle preferred), and advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation/research. Skills: Self-motivated, capable of working independently, excellent communication and analytical/problem-solving abilities, and effectiveness in a multidisciplinary team environment.
