Senior Public Works Repairer – Hopatcong Borough. Is seeking a highly motivated Senior Public Works Repairer for our Department of Public Works. Under direction, performs responsible, varied work involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of street, sewer, water, sanitation, and other public works facilities, and/or takes the lead in a very small unit; may be required to operate, check, service, and make minor repairs to trucks and other heavy road maintenance equipment; does other related duties as required. Job duties include, but not limited to: Organizes assigned work and develops effective work methods. May assist in training new employees. Receives, reviews, and adjusts complaints. Gives assignments to employees. Performs responsible, varied work involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains, pipes, valves, pumps, hydrants, and other water service equipment. Removes meters from consumers' premises, dismantles and installs water meters, and takes meter readings. Performs work involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads. Operates, checks, services, and makes minor repairs to trucks, tractors, road graders, compressors, ground hogs, grass cutters, and other road and street equipment. Operates snowplows and salting machines. Available for emergency call outs. Performs cold patch and hot patch. Assists Water Department as needed with working hours and call outs. Requirements: Must have 2 years’ experience in the construction, maintenance and/or repair of streets, sewer, water, or other public works facilities or similar heavy construction. Must have valid Driver’s License as well as CDL Endorsement.
