Position We are looking for a Crane Operator to join our team in Cayce, SC . This is a physically demanding role in a fast‑paced steel mill environment focusing on scrap metal handling using cranes equipped with grapple or magnet attachments. Key Responsibilities Operate overhead cranes equipped with magnet attachments to move and sort scrap metal and other materials. Ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials within the mill. Maintain equipment and conduct routine inspections to ensure safe operation. Follow safety protocols and work with a team to ensure compliance with all safety standards. Assist in material loading/unloading processes as needed. Document crane operations and report any malfunctioning equipment to maintenance personnel. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience as a crane operator (cable or hydraulic crane) or in a similar role within an industrial setting (steel mill experience preferred). Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent). Proven ability to operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently. Ability to work in a high‑temperature, noisy, and physically demanding environment. Strong attention to detail and safety compliance. Preferred Qualifications Experience in steel mill operations. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
