Job Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months PCU RN experience preferred License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience managing critical care drips including Insulin, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Heparin, and Blood products - General PCU skillset including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care and management, IV starts, chest tube management, and drain/tube management - Ability to manage PCA pumps Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for the Progressive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in progressive care nursing. This position will involve caring for patients with conditions such as stroke, heart failure, chest pain, COPD, and other respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 for RNs and 1:5-6 for CNAs. Support within the department includes a charge nurse available 24/7. Nurses are required to read monitors and respond appropriately as there is no telemetry monitoring tech. Virtual nurse support is available around the clock. Traveling nurses may be required to float to other facilities as needed. Schedule includes a weekend rotation and holiday expectations.
