Your Next Opportunity The Safety Specialist will implement and administer all aspects of the corporate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program and the site‑specific safety program for the assigned area or responsibility. Responsibilities Implement and administer the EHS program and site‑specific EHS plans. Conduct orientation and basic trainings, and continuously educate, coach, and mentor employees. Perform regular site inspections and observations; document findings and create detailed reports. Maintain files and records for long‑term storage. Coordinate with clients, owners, project management, field supervision, and divisional/regional leadership to ensure successful implementation of the EHS program/plan. Represent safety in meetings and begin the shift in the field, coordinating with crews, participating in pre‑task planning. Perform, document, and record environmental sampling using tools such as a dosimeter, light meter, and multi‑gas meter. Coordinate emergency response, provide care for injured employees, conduct incident investigations, and complete incident reports. Track progress on recommended corrective actions and develop lessons learned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health, or safety. High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience. 0–6 months of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent. Travel Some travel may be required. Working Conditions General work environment includes sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work conducted primarily indoors; varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting, air conditioning, and occasional noise. Must be able to safely lift 50lb. Work may be indoor or outdoor; climates vary by location and season. Potential exposure to hot, cold, humid, wet conditions, noise, and dust on construction sites.
