Production Scheduling Assistant

Schaefer Plastics is seeking a Production Scheduling Assistant to help coordinate customer orders, production schedules, work orders, and inventory needs. This person will work closely with Production, Assembly and Packaging (A&P), Sales, Customer Service, Shipping, and Materials to keep order information accurate and work moving on schedule.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute production schedules and work order packages for Production and A&P.
• Review box orders and cart work orders for the information needed to schedule and process them.
• Prepare work orders and graphic orientation forms for inventory stock.
• Maintain accurate records of completed production and A&P work orders, including first-piece inspection tags.
• Record completed work order packages and provide them to Shipping for verification.
• Identify authorized work orders for the Shipping Coordinator.
• Provide the Raw Material Handler with daily material requests.
• Respond to order and schedule questions from Sales and Customer Service.
• Help convert paper records to digital files using company systems.
• Perform related administrative work and support other department needs as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in production scheduling, manufacturing administration, order processing, materials coordination, or a related role is preferred.
• Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to organize multiple requests and adjust priorities when schedules change.
• Comfortable working with computer systems, records, and basic calculations.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with both office and production teams.
• Ability to read work instructions, order details, and routine correspondence.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This role involves extended periods of sitting, computer use, and reviewing documents, along with some standing and walking. The employee may occasionally enter a manufacturing area and may need to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds, as described in the current job description.
