The Work:

• Own the technical architecture for SAP custom development and extensibility - define the Clean Core strategy and the 3-tier extensibility model (key-user in-app, developer extensibility / ABAP Cloud, and side-by-side on BTP), plus target-state development standards.
• Provide thought leadership on modern SAP development using ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP, Fiori, Generative AI Hub, and SAP Business AI (Joule / Joule Studio).
• Lead the transition from classic ABAP to Clean Core; govern custom-code remediation, released-API adoption, and upgrade stability.
• Plan and conduct architecture and design workshops; own code reviews and architecture sign-offs across global delivery teams in client-facing roles.
• Support pursuits, estimation, and solution shaping; present to client architects and C-suite stakeholders.

Travel may be required for this role, from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here's What You Need:

• Minimum of 8 years experience developing SAP applications using S/4HANA ABAP (NetWeaver 7.4/7.5) and ABAP Cloud.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with SAP BTP tools and services (latest Application Development and Automation stack).
• Minimum of 4 years experience with data modeling using CDS views, AMDP, OData, or related custom development.
• Minimum of 4 years SAP custom development using Fiori-first, Clean Core, and BTP side-by-side approaches, including RAP.
• Minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership role (code reviews, architecture sign-offs, client workshops).
• Prior experience supporting the Chemicals & Natural Resources industry/clients
• Prior experience in a Consulting/Advisory role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years' work experience). If Associate's Degree, must have equivalent minimum 6-year work experience.

Bonus Points If:

• You have 1+ years with Cloud Application Programming
• You've earned an SAP certification in ABAP Cloud, BTP (Developer or Solution Architect), or SAP Business AI / Generative AI.
• You have hands-on exposure to SAP Build (Build Apps, Build Process Automation, Build Work Zone) and CAP (Node.js / Java).
• You have DevOps for SAP - Git-based transport / gCTS, CI/CD, and automated testing (e.g., ABAP Unit, ADT).
• You have familiarity with SAP Business AI - Joule, Joule Studio, and Generative AI Hub grounding / RAG patterns.
