Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)Greater Baden Medical Services (GBMS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare across Southern Maryland. With 9 clinical sites across Prince George's, Charles, and St. Mary's counties, we serve over 18,000 patients each year. We provide fully integrated care that includes primary care, pediatrics, women's health, Title X family planning, dental care, behavioral health, WIC, pharmacy services, and the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program. Our patient population is primarily made up of Medicaid and uninsured individuals. We are deeply proud to deliver these vital services to everyone in our community, regardless of their ability to pay, making Greater Baden an incredibly rewarding place to grow your career while making a tangible, life-changing impact every day.The Nutritionist / Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) provides comprehensive nutrition assessment, counseling, and medical nutrition therapy to primary care adult and pediatric patients as well as individuals enrolled in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Working as part of an interdisciplinary, team?based care model, the RDN supports disease prevention and management, HIV care, maternal and child health, and overall wellness for underserved populations. This role emphasizes culturally responsive, patient?centered care and addresses nutrition?related social determinants of health to improve access, engagement, and health outcomes.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive nutrition assessments using anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, dietary, and socioeconomic dataDevelop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on evidence?based guidelinesProvide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for conditions including diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular disease, pediatric growth concerns, prenatal and postpartum nutrition, and general wellnessDeliver individual and group nutrition education to patients and families using culturally and linguistically appropriate approachesCollaborate with primary care providers, nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and care coordinators as part of the interdisciplinary care teamRyan White HIV/AIDS Program ServicesProvide nutrition counseling and MNT to Ryan White eligible clients to support treatment adherence, viral suppression, and overall healthAddress HIV?related nutrition needs, including weight changes, metabolic complications, and medication?related side effectsCollaborate with Ryan White medical case managers and support service staff to address nutrition?related barriers to careScreen for food insecurity and connect Ryan White clients to internal and community resourcesDocument services in compliance with Ryan White program requirements, including accurate and timely entry into the electronic health record and applicable reporting systemsCare Coordination, Documentation, and QualityDocument all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)Participate in care conferences, huddles, and quality improvement initiativesSupport health center performance measures related to chronic disease management, preventive care, and retention in careAssist with program reporting and compliance related to HRSA, Ryan White, and other applicable funding sourcesRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institutionRegistered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential requiredCurrent state licensure or eligibility for licensure, as applicableExperience providing nutrition services in a clinical or community health settingExperience working with underserved populations preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, chronic disease management, pediatric and adult nutrition, and HIV?related nutrition needsAbility to provide trauma?informed, culturally competent, and patient?centered careExcellent communication, counseling, and documentation skillsProficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applicationsAbility to work effectively in a fast?paced, team?based FQHC environmentCommitment to health equity and the mission of community health centersPreferred QualificationsExperience working within the Ryan White HIV/AIDS ProgramCertified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or eligibilityBilingual (Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in the service area)Experience addressing food insecurity and social determinants of healthLanguage SkillsAbility to read and interpret written or verbal documents and instructions. Ability to speak effectively to patients, employees and/or stakeholders of the organization.Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus but not required.TravelMust be able to float between Greater Baden Medical Services, Inc. Capitol Heights and Brandywine locations as required.
