Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN-ICU for a 12-hour day shift assignment requiring 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• ICU unit setting within a hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:5/6
• Specialized procedures include TPN administration, wound care, drain management, foley catheter care, and narcotic administration
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Block scheduling considered
• No call-in requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license, Compact or LA license required in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• LTAC experience preferred but not required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in medication administration including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory care preferred
• Experience with central line care, PICC line management, and IV therapy
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills required
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Updated NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting, including management of complex medical and surgical patients
• Candidates may be asked to participate in facility emergency response teams, which could require extended on-site presence during emergency events
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation from the health system before returning as a travel candidate
• RTO must be disclosed on the profile and discussed during the interview process
• Two Manager/Supervisor references will be required prior to starting the contract (Charge RNs not accepted as references)
• Orientation is held five days a week
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
