About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS ACLS PALS Must-Have: PreOp experience Phase I recovery experience PAW experience Description: The unit has a total of 4 preop bays, 6 recovery bays, 6 Restore/PCI rooms, and 5 operating rooms. There are 1 Cath Lab and 2 endoscopy suites along with 12 outpatient endo/pre/post rooms. The staff consists of 43 professionals. Day shift operates for 8 hours across 5 days, with hours from 09:00 to 17:30, providing some flexibility. Night shift staff is on call as needed. Patient care ratios are in accordance with established standards. The unit is equipped with GE monitors, Plum IV pumps, Doppler, Sonosite, bladder scanners, KCI wound vacs, Prevena WV, bi-phasic defibrillators, and Bair PAWS/Bair huggers. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates should be adaptable, possess a positive attitude, and work well in a team environment. Autonomy and versatility are key attributes. Floating within the unit may be required. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Candidates with Meditech experience and regional block assistance will be prioritized. Typical procedures performed include general, orthopedic, gynecological, vascular, gastrointestinal, PCI, and interventional radiology. Blood transfusions are also part of the care provided. Weekend call is required once a month, alternating between Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, in addition to one weekday each month.
