Benefits: 401(k) matching Company parties Dental insurance Health insurance Training & development Vision insurance SENIOR REVIT CONSTRUCTION DRAFTER / DESIGNER Commercial Construction | Design-Build | In-House Position BF Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Revit Construction Drafter / Designer to join our team in-house. This is an advanced-level position for someone who does more than simply draft from markups. We need someone who understands how commercial buildings are actually constructed, can take ownership of their work, identify missing information and coordination issues, and produce accurate drawings on schedule without needing constant direction. We operate in a fast-paced commercial construction and design-build environment. Accuracy, initiative, organization, and timely execution are critical to this role. The right person is highly proficient in Revit, extremely detail-oriented, understands constructability, and takes pride in producing drawings that are coordinated, organized, and ready to be used by the people actually building the project. WHAT YOU'LL DO Develop and maintain detailed Revit models for commercial construction projects. Produce accurate permit, bid, coordination, and construction-ready drawing sets. Create plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and coordination drawings. Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing information within Revit. Review drawings for constructability, conflicts, inconsistencies, and missing information before they become field issues. Translate field conditions, sketches, project information, consultant drawings, and direction from project teams into complete construction documents. Revise and update drawings based on field conditions, site observations, coordination meetings, design changes, and project requirements. Work directly with project managers, superintendents, consultants, engineers, and field teams. Assist with design-build coordination from preconstruction through construction and closeout. Maintain accurate drawing sets, models, revisions, details, and project documentation across multiple active projects. Develop solutions when drawing or coordination issues arise rather than simply identifying the problem. Take ownership of assigned work and consistently meet project deadlines. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 5+ years of advanced Revit drafting/design experience, preferably within commercial construction, architecture, or design-build. Advanced proficiency in Revit, including both 2D construction documentation and 3D modeling. Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, detailing, sequencing, and constructability. Experience producing complete permit and construction drawing sets. Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Ability to understand how details and drawings translate into actual field construction. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and related design/documentation software. Strong understanding of drawing organization, standards, revisions, and document control. Exceptional attention to detail and drawing accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential issues before they affect construction. Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work based on project deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with both office and field personnel. INITIATIVE & OWNERSHIP ARE ESSENTIAL We are specifically looking for someone who can take a project or assignment and move it forward. You should be comfortable reviewing the information available, identifying what is missing, asking the right questions, coordinating with the appropriate team members, and completing the work accurately and on time. We do not want someone who needs to be continuously reminded what needs to be done or waits for every detail to be handed to them. We want someone who: Takes initiative. Understands priorities and deadlines. Checks their own work before submitting it. Takes ownership of the quality and accuracy of their drawings. THIS ROLE MAY NOT BE FOR YOU IF... Your experience is primarily limited to drafting exactly what has been marked up for you without understanding the construction behind it. This position requires someone who can think beyond the drawing. You need to understand how your drawings affect estimating, permitting, coordination, procurement, scheduling, and field installation — and be able to identify problems before they become expensive construction issues.
