Associate Director, MedTech Epidemiology and Real World Data Science

Overview At Johnson & Johnson, we develop next‑generation MedTech solutions. The MedTech Epidemiology and Real‑World Data Sciences (EPI‑RWDS) team provides analytical support using large administrative and patient‑level databases to answer safety, product development, and health‑outcomes questions. Associate Director – MT EPI‑RWDS (Medical Devices Sector) Key Responsibilities Lead and design observational database analyses, authoring protocols and analysis plans for RWE needs of the MedTech Cardiovascular franchise. Synthesize evidence from database analyses with other evidence to inform medical decision‑making, author publications and presentations. Collaborate closely with cross‑sector partners: Epidemiology, HEMA, Clinical, and other Cardiovascular medical‑device functions. Implement new analytical approaches for big‑data in healthcare, including data visualization, predictive analytics and machine‑learning algorithms. Report to the Senior Director, MT EPI‑RWDS. Qualifications Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in biostatistics, health services & outcomes research, epidemiology, or related field, OR master’s degree with at least 3 years of epidemiology or related professional research experience. In‑depth knowledge of healthcare databases, registries and statistical analysis. Proficiency in writing methods sections of study proposals and protocols. Experience authoring peer‑reviewed publications and presenting at national/international conferences using real‑world data. Cross‑functional partnering experience. Preferred: consulting, pharmaceutical or medical‑device industry experience. Experience & Skills Knowledge of healthcare databases and registries. Statistical analysis and quantitative data interpretation. Writing of methods sections for study protocols. Authoring publications and presentations. Cross‑functional collaboration. Preference for consulting/industry experience. Location & Travel The position is located on site in either New Brunswick, NJ; West Chester, PA; or Irvine, CA. Hybrid schedule: at least 3 days per week on site (no fully remote option). Up to approximately 10% domestic and international travel may be required. Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $137,000 – $235,750. Eligible for annual performance bonus. Vacation up to 120 hours per calendar year, sick time up to 40 hours, holiday pay up to 13 days, personal/family time up to 40 hours.
