Housekeeping Worker Job Title: Housekeeping Worker Facility: Trinitas Regional Medical Center Department: Environmental Services Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Location: 655 E. Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07206 Pay Range: $17.88 per hour Job Overview The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning patient rooms, nursing units, clinical/waiting areas, rest rooms, elevators, and corridors. The individual will sweep, mop, buff, and vacuum and perform other janitorial functions as instructed. The Housekeeping Worker will take the lead in performing all phases of Environmental Services in the assigned unit and perform the specific tasks in the absence of a supervisor. Qualifications Ability to speak, write, read, and understand the English language. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. Annual Hospital Mandatory Education Requirements. Experienced in environmental service work, burnishing floors, and cleaning equipment. (Preferred) Scheduling Requirements Day Shift - 7am to 3:30pm Every other weekend required. Full-Time. Essential Functions Performs timely patient room cleaning and provides cleaning support to the various departments. Cleans daily in all areas including discharge cleaning, patient room cleaning, cycle cleaning, office cleaning, and all ancillary area cleaning to ensure the continuity and efficiency of patient care and daily operations. Refilling of dispensers in all required areas and collection of all receptacles. Completes project work as assigned, which may include wall washing, trash removal, biohazardous linens, and sharp container removal. Assists with hospital emergency clean up. Actively participates in and accomplishes Patient Satisfaction initiatives to meet department goals. Adheres to all hospital safety standards in the use of chemicals, equipment, and machinery and in clearly marking hazardous areas resulting from cleaning processes. Adheres to the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the hospital as well as regulatory bodies. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
