Instrument Equipment Technician

Your job is more than a routine task. You serve as a critical infection control gatekeeper, ensuring surgical instrumentation and operating room equipment are properly cleaned, decontaminated, sterilized and ready for use.

Responsibilities

Identify surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies; clean, sterilize, and store them appropriately.
Operate sterilization equipment, decontaminate, assemble and wrap instruments and supplies.
Maintain compliance with sanitary, infection control, and safety standards, hospital policies, and quality‑assurance procedures.
Assess equipment needs across all departments and ensure availability and working condition.
Replace or repair instruments/equipment that are non‑functional.
Follow standard precautions in decontamination and sterilization areas.
Process endoscopes, scopes, and probes.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; OR at least 2years of experience in equipment sterilization, instrumentation or operating room aide/tech roles.
