Law firm seeking applicants for a paralegal or legal assistant position to to handle document preparation and filing of legal documents, communicating with clients, and docketing and calendaring deadlines. The position begins with learning more basic procedures and the fundamentals of the systems and processes we use, and progresses to more complex tasks and projects. This position will coordinate with two attorneys and additional staff members.
The ideal candidate will have office experience and desire to learn new procedures and specialization in trademark application preparation and filing, and patent filing and docketing. Legal experience is not necessary, but the position requires a self starter who is willing to learn new computer programs and learn our system. The position requires a significant amount of independent work and Some training is provided, but significant hands on learning is required through asking questions and research into training manuals and online instructions. Experience with Microsoft Office is required. We use a Gmail based email platform, so some experience with gmail is preferred.
