Commissioning Coordinator

The Commissioning Coordinator provides field and technical support to commissioning efforts across tenant colocation data hall fit-out projects at Megawatt Construction. This entry-level role focuses on supporting system readiness, documentation, and testing activities while developing a foundational understanding of commissioning processes in mission-critical environments. The Commissioning Coordinator works closely with Commissioning Engineers and Managers to gain hands-on experience and build the skills necessary for career progression within the commissioning team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist with equipment walks and system readiness verification to support commissioning milestones.

• Support documentation gathering, organization, and checklist completion for commissioning deliverables.

• Assist with startup witnessing, functional testing, and general field support activities.

• Track and help manage deficiencies, including field follow-up and status updates.

• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support commissioning activities.

• Attend commissioning and coordination meetings, capturing notes and tracking action items.

• Learn system operations, testing logic, and overall commissioning workflows in a mission-critical environment.

• Support multiple projects as needed, depending on workload and project demands.

• Follow company commissioning standards, processes, and safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree (or in progress) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical training or experience will also be considered.

• 0–2 years of experience in construction, MEP systems, or a related field (internships or co-op experience a plus).

• Basic understanding of construction environments or mechanical/electrical systems is a plus but not required.
