The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting. This role demands strong clinical expertise, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Essential Functions:

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients across all age groups with diverse medical conditions.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory work, imaging studies, and EKGs.
• Prescribe medications and manage treatments independently and collaboratively with attending physicians.
• Stabilize and manage critically ill or injured patients during emergency situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding care plans and treatments.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, efficiency, and satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical records.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning, including follow-up care instructions and specialist referrals as needed.
• Participate in ongoing HIPAA training and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Adhere strictly to medical staff policies, procedures, and protocols to support efficient operations.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

• Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or urgent care setting.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Active, unrestricted state licensure as an APRN or PA.
• Active, unrestricted DEA registration.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and ATLS certifications.
