Registered Nurse (RN), Pre-Op / PACU / OR - Full Time

Southgate Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pre-Op, PACU, and OR departments. This full-time position is located in Southgate, MI 48195.

Hours are full time, with the center open Monday-Friday from 6:00am to 4:00pm. Shifts will fall within these hours, with occasional flexibility for early or late hours. No late nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts.

Requirements include a graduate of an accredited nursing program, current RN license, and previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: ambulatory surgical center (ASC), PACU, ICU, medical surgical, or telemetry.

The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care of patients in accordance with established standards and ASC policies. Duties include supervising patient care in the operating room, ensuring proper techniques and practices, complying with HIPAA regulations, performing duties ethically and legally, supervising other personnel, reporting unusual occurrences, demonstrating primary nursing accountability, maintaining accurate medical records, participating in continuing education, following physician orders, developing a healthy work environment, assisting in training new staff, balancing team and individual responsibilities, recognizing the significance of each department, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications include the ability to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement patient care effectively, respond to emergent situations, demonstrate a positive, friendly, courteous, and professional manner, maintain effective communication, work within a team, possess good communication skills, be organized and manage time effectively, work independently and within a group, and have minimal absences.

Education and experience requirements include a graduate of an accredited nursing program, a bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred, and one year of previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: operating room, surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), pre/post-op, PACU, ICU, medical surgical, or telemetry.

Licenses and credentials required include a current RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Systems and technology knowledge includes proficiency in Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software, patient monitoring and emergency equipment, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and basic office equipment.

Physical requirements include frequent walking, sitting, and standing, with regular bending, stooping, and reaching, lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs, strong fine motor skills, full use of hands, visual and auditory acuity, and occasional driving or climbing.
