Senior Transportation Planner

Senior Transportation Planner – On‑Call in Vancouver, Washington How You’ll Contribute Serve as project manager or task lead for transportation planning assignments. Lead development of transportation system plans, corridor studies, active transportation plans, safety action plans, transit planning studies, and mobility strategies. Conduct transportation analyses, including multimodal assessments, travel demand evaluations, and transportation impact studies. Prepare technical memoranda, reports, presentations, and planning recommendations. Facilitate stakeholder engagement efforts, including public meetings, workshops, agency coordination, and advisory committee meetings. Support grant applications, funding strategies, and implementation planning. Present findings and recommendations to agency staff, elected officials, and community stakeholders. Mentor junior staff and provide quality assurance/quality control review of project deliverables. Strengths You Bring Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in community development, community planning, urban planning, or an associated discipline. 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in land use planning for public and/or private sector clients. 8+ years of project management experience with demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of producing technically‑sound documents. Knowledge of city and county comprehensive plans, zoning codes, development standards, and their implications on design. Demonstrated expertise in preparing and/or reviewing detailed land use applications, including rezoning, conditional use permits, variances, and other complex entitlement processes. Knowledge of Oregon Statewide Land Use Planning Goals and/or Washington Growth Management Act preferred. AICP preferred.
