Job Summary

Personal Care Assistants are responsible for providing, restoring, maintaining, and promoting the health of clients through in-home support, medical monitoring, transportation services, and assistance with daily living activities.

Team members are expected to lead by example, maintaining a positive attitude; being considerate, supportive, productive, and reliable coworkers; keeping our members safe; and always working to improve the health and happiness of the people we serve and their caregivers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old for positions that do not require driving clients
• At least 21 years old for positions that require driving or running errands for clients
• Current certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or CNA preferred
• For positions involving driving clients (errands/medical appointments): a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and proof of vehicle registration and insurance are required
• At least one year of full-time equivalent experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Previous experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Ability to bend, lift, push, pull, squat, twist, transfer, and lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods while providing physical assistance
• Satisfactory background check results and, where applicable, specific state regulatory requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Provide support and assistance to members with daily living activities and personal care as needed (e.g., dressing, feeding, mobility, transfers, therapies, bathroom assistance, etc.)
• Provide in-home support and help maintain a healthy environment by performing tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, shopping, and home safety
• Prepare and serve meals and snacks and clean tables; assist with feeding as needed
• Observe members for changes in condition or unusual situations and escalate concerns as appropriate
• Run errands as needed (e.g., grocery shopping, personal items, accompany or transport to appointments)
• Ensure the safety of members by monitoring activities and maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitary environment
• Communicate positively, courteously, and professionally with members and their families, coworkers, referral agencies, and the general community
• Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as laws and safety and regulation standards
