Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nursing (R1136) Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nursing (R1136) Location: New York, NY (Multiple DOE School Locations) Pay Rate: $60 – $76 per hour Job Type: Part-Time / Per Diem (On-Need Basis) Job Overview We are seeking dedicated and flexible Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide school-based healthcare services across various New York City Department of Education (DOE) schools on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for nurses looking for flexible scheduling while supporting student health and safety. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to students during assigned shifts Assess and manage acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions Administer medications and treatments as prescribed Respond to on-site medical emergencies and provide first aid Maintain accurate and timely health records Support compliance with immunization and health requirements Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers Implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) as needed Qualifications Active RN license in New York State Current BLS/CPR certification Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (school or pediatric preferred) Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with NYC DOE systems and protocols Experience with EMR documentation Work Schedule Flexible scheduling based on school requirements Typically aligned with school hours (Monday–Friday, daytime shifts) Competitive hourly rate: $60 – $76/hour (DOE) Opportunity to work across multiple school locations Weekly pay options #J-18808-Ljbffr
